Matthew Zakland

"Compounds" is an exhibit of experimental photo booth art by Matthew Zakland.
Zakland breaks new ground in this series, physically dissecting the medium, yet working within its inherent temporal confines. His compositions are aggressive and confrontational. The subjects (in most cases, the artist himself) are mysterious and tortured, challenging the walls of the booth. -Wade

Daniel Minnick

While trouble shooting my photo booth yesterday, Dan Z. of the Musee Mechanique mentioned someone he thought I should meet... turns out the other Dan works a couple of nights at the MM and I had recently come across his work while researching artists working with the medium of the photo booth.

My very own photo booth!

Model 14 arrived today...

Unfortunately it did not come with the sign on the top :(
Mine has a wooden frame that is painted a powder blue color. I will upload a photo of the actual booth later.

Bizaare distorted image

This is from the reflection in the photo booth at Lost Weekend Video on Valencia. I believe it was taken on February 10th during my break from the picture pendant class that I took at Beadissimo.

Photo booth Illustration

I love this illustration. It is so simple. I took it with my little point & shoot digital camera and then changed the contrast in photoshop. It might make a nice t-shirt.

February 26th, 2008 Musee Mechanique

This was the 2nd strip I made in less than 5 minutes at the Musee Mechanique on Tuesday. This is the booth in the middle. It tends to be more blown out but sometimes it starts working after only $2 are inserted.

My head looks so small compared to the rest of my body :(
